I have lived in Leicestershire now for 12 years with my wife Joanne. We have lived in Quorn since 2013 and in 2015 we were married at St Bartholomew’s in Quorn.
Due to a career opportunity we relocated to Leicestershire from Market Drayton in Shropshire and I took a Management role at Walkers and Son.
In Market Drayton I spent over 10 years on the Town Council and also was elected on to what was the North Shropshire District Council until Shropshire went unitary in 2009, so I have a good knowledge of council functions. During my time on the town council, I have sat on Planning, Finance, General Purposes, Community and Governance Committees and several Sub Committees. In 2005 I was nominated as vice chair for the Council, which meant in 2006 I became Chair and Mayor of the town, for which I am extremely proud of and have some fond memories.
Since moving to Leicestershire and Quorn I have been interested in what goes on in the village. Whilst my job did not allow me time to get involved before, now that I am retired I feel I have time to be able to play a part in the local community on the Council.
My interests are walking, rugby, football, cricket, in fact most sports. I also play Petanque for one of the local pubs.
I think my previous job role and Council knowledge will be an asset to the Quorn Parish Council and I look forward to working with the team here and the challenges ahead.
